Hank Roat Memorial Park
Renovating the Park
As a group, we wanted to contribute something to our community, and we believe that enhancing our park with exciting elements suitable for all ages is an excellent idea for our town. Our park already boasts a fantastic open space filled with climbing tires and disc golf, but we envision it becoming much more. With the input of our community, we are working towards making this vision a reality.

The Skate Park!
As of August 2019, Alberton has a skatepark! We've been so happy to see all ages, from children as young as 1 years old to as young as 60+. Next steps for this area are to install benches, picnic tables, permanent garbage cans, and lights to enable use up to 9 PM.
Our Vision for The Park
Phase 2 - Coming Spring 2024
In 2016, PEAK embarked on a journey to improve the Hank Roat Memorial Park with the addition of new Skate Park (COMPLETE), Parkour Course, Walking Path, Tennis Court, and other Recreational Features. With the support of our community partners and generous donors, PEAK has raised nearly $250,000 to improve this community asset. This early next year, we will break ground on Phase 2 of the Park Project which includes the addition of a 1/3 mile walking path to the Park and renovation of the existing tennis court.
Music
In cooperation with art and music students at the school, the first installation took place in July 2018 with the addition of these two xylophones, created by Matt Sibert and the Alberton School Art students.
Tennis Court
Tennis is a great cardiovascular activity that is great in pairs or for singles. We happen to have two courts but really just need one, so resurfacing that one is in the works.
Walking Path
A 1/3-mile walking path will follow the perimeter of the park, providing a safe place for community members to walk while enjoying the park's scenic features. This will be the final phase of the park updates.
Parkour
A body that stays in motion stays healthier, and that's what we aim to provide with having a parkour section in our park. This area will help enhance upper body strength and stamina.
